Publift Dashboard Homepage FAQs

Publift Dashboard Homepage FAQs

Introduction

In 2020, we collected lots of feedback from you on what a meaningful reporting experience would look like, improvements we could make to the UI, and what new dimensions and metrics you’d like to see in the dashboard. To address this feedback, we’ve made some substantial changes to our dashboard. The key benefits of the new dashboard update include:

  1. Moving to a reporting platform: We’ve changed the front-end composition of our dashboard to a new BI platform to significantly speed up our ability to release new reports to you or make improvements to existing reports.
  2. UI improvements: We received feedback on the laborious nature of clicking through multiple dropdowns and filters in order to pull the data you wished to see. You also requested more at-a-glance reporting, where data is prepared and loaded without the need for clicking and filtering. We’ve addressed both of these points with a new simplified filtering system and preloaded reports to view when you log into the dashboard.
  3. More visuals, more data: We also heard that you wanted more dimensions and metrics to scan, and more reporting capabilities within the dashboard. Our new improvements will allow you to quickly release new graphs, tables and data sources to improve your reporting experience and help you understand more about how your site is performing
We will be progressively rolling out the homepage to the dashboard over early March 2021. You will not need to do anything to gain access to the report.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q. What's the purpose of the homepage?
The homepage is designed to give you a fast reporting experience that without the need for interaction with the report, you can extract performance highlights by simply logging into the dashboard. The reports are designed to be quick to load and read, whilst also making the page quick for us to update and improve.

Q. Where will the homepage sit on the dashboard?
When you log into the dashboard, this homepage report will be the default landing page. For users that are looking for a swift reporting experience, the data will be presented as soon as you log into the dashboard. For users who wish to dig deeper, the existing reports (and upcoming new reports) will be available via the hamburger menu. As we release new reports, they'll be accessible via this menu also.

Q. What data can I get out of the homepage?
We've pulled together the commonly queried metrics into one report and we've included a few headline figures and graphs to allow you to understand performance. The key metrics include:
  1. Pageviews: Total pageviews extracted from Google Analytics for your site.
  2. Impressions: Total amount of impressions served, summed across networks.
  3. Net Revenue: Total net revenue accrued, summed across networks.
  4. Page RPM (net): (Net Revenue / Pageviews ) * 1000. Page RPM indicates how much revenue was accrued from 1000 pageviews.
  5. eCPM (net): (Net Revenue / Impressions ) * 1000. Page RPM indicates how much revenue was accrued from 1000 impressions served.
You'll also be able to interact with these metrics across time-series graphs, where you'll be able to export the graph images and CSV data tables.

Q. How does filtering work in this report?
Filtering and time selection has changed dramatically from the existing reports tab to the homepage. The bulk of feedback we've collected is that you'd like an easier interaction to achieve the filters you're looking for. For publishers with multiple websites or apps, you'll see an account filter, where you can toggle which website or app you'd like to focus on. Otherwise, the default will be the sum of all your properties. If you're a single-property publisher (i.e., one website or app) you'll not see an account filter.

Everyone will see a currency toggle and a date range picker. The default currency is set at the user level, so you'll see data by the currency you requested during onboarding. If you wish to change the currency of the report, simply pick the currency you wish to view the data in. If you wish to change your default currency, reach out to support@publift.com and we'll get that sorted for you.

The date range picker has become much easier and quicker to filter for certain dates. In this module, you are able to use the calendar based picking method that is common across many reporting tools. What is additional is the ability to simply type in the date range box what dates you'd like to pull, for example: ''last week'', ''November 2020'', ''this year'' - see below:

Q.  How do I export data from a specific widget on the homepage?
1. Choose the widget you wish to export and click on the ''more options'' button:

2. Choose which file format you wish to export and click to download:

Q. How do I export an image or document of the whole report?
In the top right corner of the report, there is an export button that will allow you to download the whole report as a PDF or PNG.

Q. What should I do if I get a ''Signature has expired'' notification?
This is a common symptom of prolonged time spent inactive in the dashboard. If you get a notification saying "Signature has expired'', you can simply refresh the page and relog in. For security reasons, we ensure that you're logged out after the dashboard sits idle.

Q. What should I do if I have any questions about the report or want to give feedback to Publift?
Simply send us an email via support@publift.com, give us a call, send us a handwritten letter - whatever works for you! We're always keen to hear from you and your feedback is vital for us to make the right decisions around what things to build or improve.
