There are a few reasons that contribute to the differences between any automated Google AdManager reports sent by Publift with the Publift Dashboard.
- Reporting Timezone
- Header Bidding Estimation
Reporting Timezone
This is the main contributor for the difference between any Google AdManager reports with our reporting dashboard as Google AdManager reports in Pacific Standard Time (UTC -8) while Publift Dashboard reports in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC +0). This would shift any impressions and revenue 8 hours ahead in our reporting dashboard.
Our reporting dashboard uses UTC as the standard timezone as we wanted to unify reporting from all other network partners that we work with as they report in different timezones as well (AEST, PST and UTC).
Header Bidding Estimation
The revenue provided by a report from Google AdManager can be inaccurate, especially on impressions that are serving through other network partners (i.e. Rubicon) as Google only reports the estimated CPM that Rubicon provided during real-time bidding.
Our reporting dashboard however retrieves data directly from every individual network partner as the data is more accurate as the impression and revenue might be different in comparison to Google AdManager as they might be reporting in a different timezone and currency. Do refer to this
link for more information on how Publift deals with other currencies.
Publift Revenue Share
Our reporting dashboard takes into consideration of Publift's revenue share, as we display the net revenue figures payable to all publishers while Google AdManager's figures do not take that into consideration.
